The Granary Restaurant

The Granary Restaurant
The Granary Georgetown MD

We spent this Labor Day weekend on the Sassafras River anchored out in a quiet area the locals call $1.98 Beach.  It’s over from Skipjack Cove Marina.  There were six of us rafted together.  We all decided we didn’t want to cook and we also didn’t want to dine  in so we decided to “order take-out” and take the dingy over to get the food.  The Granary wasn’t my first choice, we first called Signals Grille and Deck(at Skipjack Cove Yachting Resort) as I have been there before and the food is excellent.  I was told when we called they do not take any take out orders between 6-9pm even if I came in and ordered??? What restaurant doesn’t want an extra $200 in business and doesn’t have to give up any seats in the dinning room? It was their loss and I am really glad because we ended up having an amazing meal from the Granary! http://granary.biz/

When I called in to order the nice lady didn’t even hesitate when I told her I wanted to place a large order for take out on a Friday night on Labor Day weekend! It took us a good 10-15 min to dingy over and the place was packed.  I was actually a little nervous we would wait forever for our food but within 20-25min we had it all with a smile. I had the Friday special which was the Prime rib.  If I had to rate it, I would say it was in the top 3 best prime rib dinners I have ever had and it even sat in a take out box for 15min while we navigated back in the dark. The crew got an array of different apps and all had great things to say. My recommendation is if you are in the area of the Sassafras river and Georgetown MD visit The Fish Whistle at the Granary for Lunch or Dinner, The views are absolutely amazing if you are dinning in! Cheers!
